秋立つは水にかも似る
洗はれて
思ひことごと新しくなる
The coming Autumn resembles water.
Washed by which
Every thinking of mine is renewed.
父のごと秋はいかめし
母のごと秋はなつかし
家持たぬ児に
Like a father stern is the Autumn
Like a mother yearning is the Autumn
To a homeless lad.
